Six Nations Tickets: How to Get Them and What They Cost

England’s home Six Nations tickets are not sold to the public. The RFU distributes tickets for major internationals at Twickenham only through registered rugby clubs — and the window for the 2027 Championship is open now, having launched at 10am on 26 August 2026 and closing at 4pm on Wednesday 23 September 2026.

That makes this the rare case on this site where there is something to do today rather than a deadline that has passed. The 2027 Guinness Six Nations runs Friday 5 February to Super Saturday, 13 March 2027. All prices below were checked on 28 August 2026.

The route nobody puts first: join a club

There is no general public sale for England at Twickenham. The chain is:

1. RFU affiliated clubs receive a ticket entitlement.
2. Clubs purchase their entitlement during the window — 26 August to 23 September 2026 for 2027.
3. Club members apply through their club, with a non-refundable £6 administration fee per ticket.
4. For the biggest matches, the club runs an internal ballot, because the RFU has said Twickenham allocations will be limited and some matches will likely have to be balloted.

Two consequences worth knowing. First, which club you join matters — allocations differ by club size and each runs its own process, so identical applications get different odds at different clubs. Second, clubs are permitted to sell below the RFU’s standard prices, so what you pay for the same seat at the same match varies by club.

If you are not a member of a rugby club and you want to watch England at home, joining one is the mechanism. It is not a workaround; it is the system.

The Twickenham residents’ route

This is the most useful obscure fact in the article. Residents in the TW1, TW2, TW3 2 and TW7 7 postcode ranges can register for a free Twickenham Residents membership, which allows entry into ticket ballots.

No club membership, no fee. If you live in those postcodes and did not know this existed, it is the single cheapest access route to an England home international.

The spread within one tournament is the story. A Category 4 seat for England v Scotland at £93 and a Premium seat at £207 are the same match. An Italy home ticket at €42 and Le Crunch at £300-plus are the same competition.

Rome is the cheapest way to watch the Six Nations

If your goal is to see this tournament live rather than to see a specific team, Italy’s home fixtures are dramatically cheaper.

Face value starts at about €42. On the resale market, Italy v Wales has started as low as £24 and Italy v France around £26. Compare that with England v France on Valentine’s weekend, where resale has started at £252 and averaged about £475.

That is a difference of roughly twenty times for the same championship. The Stadio Olimpico is a genuine international venue, Rome in February is quiet and cheap, and the rugby is the same standard the rest of the tournament plays to.

Where the 2027 matches are

Fifteen matches across six stadiums:

• Allianz Stadium, Twickenham — London (capacity and the £100m rename)
• Principality Stadium — Cardiff, 73,931, roof closed for all Wales Six Nations matches since 2025

• Scottish Gas Murrayfield — Edinburgh
• Aviva Stadium — Dublin
• Stade de France — Paris
• Stadio Olimpico — Rome

Ireland both open and close the Championship at the Aviva, hosting England in round one and France in the final round — which makes Dublin the hardest ticket of the 2027 tournament and the two most likely fixtures to be balloted everywhere.

Only two events on this site have no public route at all: England home internationals at Twickenham, and Royal Ascot’s Royal Enclosure. Both replace money with membership — one through a rugby club, one through sponsorship by two existing members. Everything else, from the Masters to F1, will sell to a stranger.

The difference is that a rugby club will take almost anyone. It is the most open closed system in sport.

What to do before 23 September

1. If you belong to a rugby club, apply now. The window closes at 4pm on Wednesday 23 September 2026 and there is no extension.
2. If you do not, join one. Any RFU affiliated club, and ask about its allocation and ballot process before you pick.
3. If you live in TW1, TW2, TW3 2 or TW7 7, register the free Twickenham Residents membership.
4. For away fixtures, buy through the host union — the Aviva, Murrayfield, Principality, Stade de France and Stadio Olimpico each run their own sales.
5. If you just want to be there, go to Rome. From €42, and no ballot.
