F1 Tickets: What a Grand Prix Weekend Costs

Formula 1 is the one major event on this site with no ballot. Tickets are sold directly, first come, and the consequence is that price does all the rationing. In 2026 that produced a range of roughly thirty times between the cheapest and dearest way to watch the same championship: $70 for general admission in China against $2,082.60 for a Gold-tier grandstand seat in Monaco.

Which race you choose matters more than anything else you decide. All figures below are 2026 prices unless stated, checked on 28 August 2026, because most 2027 prices were not yet published.

China was the cheapest round on the 2026 calendar, with general admission at about $70 and grandstand seats available from roughly $235. Suzuka grandstands started near $140, which for one of the best circuits in the world is the strongest value on the calendar.

These are not lesser events. Suzuka and Interlagos are two of the most highly regarded races among drivers and fans. You are paying less because the local market supports less, not because the racing is worse.

Monaco is the dearest seat and Las Vegas the dearest race on average. All three United States rounds sit at the top, from about $775 in Austin to $1,156 in Las Vegas, which reflects corporate demand rather than anything about the circuits.

Across the whole calendar the average F1 ticket is around $498, and the average cheapest three-day reserved seat was $424 in 2026 — up 9.3% on $389 in 2025. Attending F1 is getting more expensive faster than inflation.

Monaco 2027: unannounced, and expected to open in September

Monaco is the race most people want and the one that needs planning furthest ahead.

2027 prices had not been published in late August 2026, and the official ticketing page was showing a waitlist rather than open sales. On recent form, sales are expected to begin in September. For reference, in 2026 most three-day grandstand seats at Monaco were at or above €1,000, and the VIP Grandstand package was €990 per person for a numbered seat on Saturday and Sunday with buffet lunch and drinks.

There is a cheaper way in, and it is worth understanding before you book. Monaco general admission gives you no reserved seat — it is described as an open meadow, and you find your own view. The cheapest ticket for the 2026 race was reported at around £112. That is a tenth of a grandstand seat, at the most glamorous race in the sport, in exchange for standing.

If you want a specific Monaco grandstand — Grandstand K and the harbour-front stands are the ones people ask for — assume you need to buy within days of sales opening.

What the official store charges for a weekend

Session pricing varies by round, but two live examples show the shape of it:

Note that a three-day ticket costs far more than the three days added together at Singapore. That is deliberate: the weekend ticket is the premium product with the better seat, not a discount bundle. If you only want the race, a Sunday ticket is usually the efficient purchase.

Paddock Club: the same product, three times the price

F1 Paddock Club is the sport’s flagship hospitality, and it is the clearest example of prestige pricing in world sport because the product is essentially identical at every round.

The floor is about $5,500 per person for a weekend and the ceiling passes $18,000. Melbourne costs nearly three times Baku for the same tier of the same hospitality programme, driven by demand and local catering costs rather than anything you receive.

The practical read: if Paddock Club is the experience you want rather than a specific race, buying it at Baku, Spa or Barcelona gets you the same thing for a third of the Miami price. The full set of access guides sits in our tickets hub.

F1 is the outlier in the good direction and the bad one at once. There is no window to miss and no luck involved — if you can pay, you can go, which is not true of the Masters or Wimbledon. But because price is the only filter, the desirable rounds cost multiples of what a comparable seat costs elsewhere.

What to do, in order

1. Pick the race on value, not fame. Suzuka, Interlagos and Shanghai deliver the best racing per pound on the calendar. Monaco, Las Vegas and Miami deliver the highest prices.
2. Buy when sales open, for the popular rounds. Monaco, Silverstone and Las Vegas grandstands go early. Belgian Grand Prix 2027 tickets were already on sale in late August 2026.
3. Decide grandstand versus general admission honestly. GA at a circuit with banking, like Spa or Austin, can be excellent. GA at a street circuit is often a view of a fence.
4. Buy Sunday only if the race is the point. Three-day tickets are a premium product, not a bundle discount.
5. If hospitality is the goal, choose the cheap round. Identical Paddock Club, a third of the price.

Comparative rankings, averages and the year-on-year increase are from PlanetF1, GPDestinations, RacingNews365 and F1 Oversteer, all reporting on the 2026 season. Paddock Club figures are 2026 starting prices compiled from hospitality operators, and hospitality pricing moves during a season.

Prices appear in the currency each source published — dollars, euros or pounds — and are not converted, because exchange-rate conversion would imply a precision these figures do not have. Most 2027 prices, Monaco’s included, were unpublished when this page was written.
