Ryder Cup Tickets: Prices, Ballot and What's Left

A single match day at the 2027 Ryder Cup costs €499 — the most expensive ticket in the history of the Ryder Cup in Europe, and roughly double the €250 charged in Rome four years earlier. The worldwide ballot ran from 3 to 29 June 2026 and has closed. The first batch sold out anyway.

If you are looking for a way in now, there is one official route left and it is not a ticket. All prices below are the published face values for the 2027 matches at Adare Manor, County Limerick, played from 13 to 19 September 2027 with competition across the final three days.

The practice days are the story hidden in that table. Thursday at €179 includes the Opening Ceremony, which is the single most atmospheric non-competitive moment of a Ryder Cup week, and Tuesday or Wednesday at €89 costs less than a fifth of a match day.

Can you still get tickets?

Not through the ballot. It closed at 23:59 BST on 29 June 2026 and the first allocation sold out. There is no late entry and no reopening.

One official route remains: ticket-inclusive hotel packages through Ryder Cup Travel Services, which bundle admission with accommodation in the Limerick and Shannon area. These cost considerably more than the ticket alone, and you are buying a trip rather than a seat — the same trade-off as official Super Bowl hospitality packages.

Treat anything else offering 2027 Ryder Cup tickets with caution and check it against the official ticketing site before paying.

How the ballot worked, and the detail that mattered most

The mechanism was straightforward but had one requirement that caught people out.

You needed a registered ticketing account at rydercup.com before the ballot opened. Only account holders could enter. The worldwide ballot then opened at 14:00 BST on 3 June 2026 and closed at 23:59 BST on 29 June 2026, and applicants could request up to four tickets per day in a single transaction per account.

Before that, residents of the island of Ireland had an exclusive priority window from 24 April 2026. That is standard practice for a home Ryder Cup, and it is the strongest argument for registering an account at the start of a cycle rather than waiting for the global ballot: the home-market window opens first and it is not advertised widely outside the host country.

For the 2031 matches, whenever and wherever they are staged in Europe, the lesson is to have an account before anyone announces anything.

Is €499 actually expensive?

It depends entirely on what you compare it with, and both sides of the argument have a point.

The case that it is too much. Rome in 2023 charged €250 for the equivalent day. Adare Manor is asking roughly twice that, in a country where a home Ryder Cup is a once-in-a-generation event and demand was never in doubt. The reaction was loud: fans called the pricing disgraceful on social media, and Mark Fulcher, Justin Rose’s long-time caddie, described the costs as extortionately high and the situation as deeply disappointing.

The case that it is proportionate. Organisers point to the volume of golf — two sessions on each of Friday and Saturday, then twelve singles matches on Sunday — and to the equivalent US price. At Bethpage Black in New York in 2025 a match day cost $750, around €638. On that comparison Adare Manor is a fifth cheaper than the most recent edition.

Set against other premium sport, €499 sits in an unusual place:

The Ryder Cup runs a ballot and charges €499. It is the only event on that list doing both, which is why the backlash landed even though the tickets sold.

What you actually get for the money

Adare Manor is a parkland course on the banks of the River Maigue, not a purpose-built arena, and that shapes the spectator experience more than the price does.

Organisers are planning a record 20,000 grandstand seats and an increased number of giant screens, with around 250,000 spectators expected across the week. Grandstand capacity is the real constraint on how many tickets exist — on a parkland site you cannot simply add rows.

The practical consequence for a ticket holder is that Ryder Cup viewing is less about following a group and more about picking a position. With two sessions on the Friday and Saturday, a grandstand seat at a shared green will show you far more golf than walking will.

The centenary, and why demand was never in question

The 2027 matches are the centenary edition — a hundred years after the first Ryder Cup in 1927. It is the first Ryder Cup in Ireland since the K Club in 2006, at a venue owned by JP McManus and rebuilt specifically to stage it.

Any one of those would have driven demand. Together they explain both the price and the sell-out: organisers were pricing an event that could not fail to fill, in a market that had waited two decades for it.

Whether that is good business or a bad look for the sport is a judgement, not a fact. What is measurable is that the tickets went, and that the Ryder Cup now charges more for a day’s golf than any event in Europe while the sport’s most prestigious tournament charges $160.

The pattern worth knowing for 2028 and beyond

Three of the biggest ticketed events in world sport ran their public ballots for 2027 within weeks of each other in mid-2026:

If you want to attend a marquee event, the application almost always happens twelve to eighteen months ahead, in the first half of the preceding year, and the window is measured in weeks. By the time an event is being previewed in the press, the public route has usually shut.
