Cricket is believed to be the second most popular sport in the world and the most viewed sporting event in sub-continents like India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. There are many players who achieved great height of success last year, and are preparing to kick start the new season of 2015. Our team inducted the top players in our 2015 Cricket Hall of Fame while keeping in mind the recent performance of the players in all three formats of the game Tests, ODIs and Twenty20. ICC always keeps the rating of the players updated as the rating of the players in all three formats also played a key role in the selection of our Hall of Fame. There are many cricketers who performed extremely well this year in certain formats of the game but for better accuracy, and to honor the player who performed pretty well in all the formats of the game, we are now proudly presenting the inaugural inductees of our Hall of Fame. So here is the list of 2015 Cricket Hall of Famers.

Captain of the South African One Day International team, AB de Villiers scored 7,168 runs in 92 Test matches, 6,543 runs in 162 ODI matches and 1007 runs in 57 Twenty20 matches. He currently stands with 869 ODI rating points and 888 Tests rating points as of 2014. He achieved his highest ranking points of 885 among ODI players on 12th July 2014 against Sri Lanka, which placed him on the top place of the ICC ODI Players Ranking. De Villiers touched the mark of highest ranking point of 935 among Test players on 20th February 2014 against Australia which placed him on the second position of the ICC Test Players ranking and achieved 571 ranking points among Twenty20 players on 20th May 2010 against West Indies which again placed him on the 35th position of the ICC T20 Rankings with the recent ranking point of 498.

2. Kumar Sangakkara

Sri Lankan international cricketer and former captain Kumar Sangakkara dominated the number one spot in the ICC Test batting rankings between 2005 and 2014. He is one of the “most polished and prudent of batsmen” according to ESPN. Sangakkara scored 11,988 runs in 128 Test matches, 12,844 runs in 380 ODI matches and 17,099 runs in 221 First Class cricket matches. He currently stands with 800 ODI rating points and 915 Tests rating points as of 2014. He achieved his highest ranking points of 853 among ODI players on 3rd March 2014 against Afghanistan, which placed him on the fifth place of the ICC ODI Players Ranking. Sangakkara touched the mark of highest ranking point of 938 among Test players on 1st December 2007 against England, which placed him on the top position of the ICC Test Players ranking.

South African right-handed top order batsman Hashim Amla scored 6,415 runs in 79 Test matches, 4,434 runs in 89 ODI matches and 13,875 runs in 181 First Class cricket matches. He currently stands with 848 ODI rating points and 863 Tests rating points as of 2014. He achieved his highest ranking points of 901 among ODI players on 5th September 2012 against England, which placed him on the Second place of the ICC ODI Players Ranking. Amla touched the mark of highest ranking point of 907 among Test players on 13th October 2013 against Pakistan, which placed him on the sixth position of the ICC Test Players ranking and achieved 611 ranking points among Twenty20 players on 4th April 2014 against India, which again placed him on the 18th position of the ICC T20 Rankings with the recent ranking point of 611.

4. Virat Kohli

Indian middle-order batsman and occasional captain Virat Kohli scored 1,855 runs in 29 Test matches, 5,688 runs in 138 ODI matches and 4,043 runs in 60 First Class cricket matches. He currently stands with 845 ODI rating points and 618 Tests rating points as of 2014. He achieved his highest ranking points of 886 among ODI players on 26th February 2014 against Bangladesh, which placed him on the Third place of the ICC ODI Players Ranking. Kohli touched the mark of highest ranking point of 784 among Test players on 14th February 2014 against New Zealand, which placed him on the 25th position of the ICC Test Players ranking, and achieved 897 ranking points among Twenty20 players on 7th September 2014 against England, which again placed Kohli on the top position of the ICC T20 Rankings with the recent ranking point of 897.

5. Angelo Mathews

Captain of the Sri Lankan cricket team for both Test and One Day International Angelo Mathews scored 3,054 runs in 44 Test matches, 3,015 runs in 132 ODI matches and 5,103 runs in 74 First Class cricket matches. He currently stands with 651 ODI rating points and 873 Tests rating points as of 2014. He achieved his highest ranking points of 652 among ODI players on 26th August 2014 against Pakistan, which placed him on the Sixteenth place of the ICC ODI Players Ranking. Mathews touched the mark of highest ranking point of 873 among Test players on 14th August 2014 against Pakistan, which placed him on the Forth position of the ICC Test Players ranking, and achieved 493 ranking points among Twenty20 players on 3rd April 2014 against West Indies, which again placed Mathews on the Fortieth position of the ICC T20 Rankings with the recent ranking point of 485.

6. Ahmed Shehzad

Pakistani right-handed opening batsman and occasional part-time legbreak bowler Ahmed Shehzad scored 273 runs in 3 Test matches, 1,586 runs in 44 ODI matches and 528 runs in 26 Twenty20 matches. He currently stands with 649 ODI rating points and 399 Tests rating points as of 2014. He achieved his highest ranking points of 670 among ODI players on 4th March 2014 against Bangladesh, which placed him on the Seventeenth place of the ICC ODI Players Ranking. Shehzad touched the mark of highest ranking point of 403 among Test players on 16th January 2014 against Sri Lanka, which placed him on the 66th position of the ICC Test Players ranking and achieved 709 ranking points among Twenty20 players on 30th March 2014 against Bangladesh, which again placed Shehzad on the tenth position of the ICC T20 Rankings with the recent ranking point of 660.

7. MS Dhoni

Current captain of the Indian national cricket team in all three forms of the game MS Dhoni scored 4,628 runs in 86 Test matches, 8,046 runs in 243 ODI matches and 822 runs in 49 Twenty20 matches. He stands with 771 ODI rating points and 607 Tests rating points as of 2014. He achieved his highest ranking points of 836 among ODI players on 31st October 2009 against Australia, which placed him on the Sixth place of the ICC ODI Players Ranking. Dhoni touched the mark of highest ranking point of 662 among Test players on 14th February 2010 against South Africa which placed him on the 28th position of the ICC Test Players ranking and achieved 514 ranking points among Twenty20 players on 10th October 2013 against Australia, which again placed Dhoni on the thirtieth position of the ICC T20 Rankings with the recent ranking point of 512.

8. Brendon McCullum

Current captain of the New Zealand’s international cricket team in all three forms of the game Brendon McCullum scored 5,219 runs in 84 Test matches, 5,172 runs in 229 ODI matches and 7,929 runs in 131 First Class cricket matches. He currently stands with 615 ODI rating points and 651 Tests rating points as of 2014. He achieved his highest ranking points of 685 among ODI players on 23rd February 2013 against England, which placed him on the Twenty-fourth place of the ICC ODI Players Ranking. McCullum touched the mark of highest ranking point of 724 among Test players on 14th February 2014 against India which placed him on the 20th position of the ICC Test Players ranking and achieved 849 ranking points among Twenty20 players on 21st September 2012 against Bangladesh, which again placed McCullum on the Fourth position of the ICC T20 Rankings with the recent ranking point of 782.

Australian quick-scoring left-handed opening batsman David Warner scored 2,467 runs in 30 Test matches, 1,287 runs in 42 ODI matches and 1,391 runs in 51 Twenty20 matches. He currently stands with 549 ODI rating points and 871 Tests rating points as of 2014. He achieved his highest ranking points of 589 among ODI players on 29th June 2012 against England, which placed him on the Forty-fifth place of the ICC ODI Players Ranking. Warner touched the mark of highest ranking point of 871 among Test players on 1st March 2014 against South Africa which placed him on the Fifth position of the ICC Test Players ranking and achieved 825 ranking points among Twenty20 players on 11th May 2010 against West Indies, which again placed Warner on the Seventh position of the ICC T20 Rankings with the recent ranking point of 703.

10. Mohammad Hafeez

Pakistani cricketer and former captain of Pakistan national cricket team in the T20 format Mohammad Hafeez scored 2,174 runs in 36 Test matches, 4,096 runs in 141 ODI matches and 1,270 runs in 54 Twenty20 matches. He currently stands with 646 ODI rating points and 442 Tests rating points as of 2014. He achieved his highest ranking points of 665 among ODI players on 4th March 2014 against Bangladesh, which placed him on the Eighteenth place of the ICC ODI Players Ranking. Hafeez touched the mark of highest ranking point of 595 among Test players on 30th June 2012 against Sri Lanka, which placed him on the 57th position of the ICC Test Players ranking and achieved 649 ranking points among Twenty20 players on 11th December 2013 against Sri Lanka which again placed Hafeez on the Twentieth position of the ICC T20 Rankings with the recent ranking point of 594.
